With many years of experience and countless clients, you can rest assured that your pet will receive the attentiveness they need. Leaving your dog(s) at home while you are out at work is never ideal, but Walkies & Cuddles aim to make it that little bit easier by providing an exceptional dog walking service that you can rely on. It is one of my most popular services. A member of Walkies & Cuddles will enter your home and take your best friend for a walk for either 30 or 60 minutes. Its not just a walk, its fuss and cuddles too.


Our mission is to make each walk the highlight of your dog's day and to help take away some of the daily anxiety you feel at leaving them behind. We believe that the best way to walk our dogs is one-to-one as this ensures that they receive the undivided attention they deserve.


A Walkies & Cuddles walkers will collect your dog(s) from your home or office at a time that suits you, walk them to the park, and then exercise and play games with them till it's time to go home again.


All of our walks are done on foot so your dog(s) will be taken to your local park and walked just as you would do yourself. Not using vans is not only kinder to the environment but also ensures that they get the maximum amount of exercise in their time with us.


We love to personalise your dog’s walks so if they have a favourite toy or activity, are working on some training or even just have a favourite toilet spot, let us know and we will make sure we incorporate it into a walk.


We also make sure that they get plenty of doggie interaction and socialisation in the park, making friends and getting to know their canine neighbours while always being under the watchful eye of our walkers.


We guarantee that your dog(s) will return home safe, happy and tired after an excellent workout and will get lots of strokes and tummy rubs along the way. 


We always check that water bowls are refreshed, wet dogs are towelled down and we can also follow any feeding or medication requests you might have.


Also, we will clean up any mess your pet may have left, change their water and if your dogs need feeding, we are happy to do that too. We don't just look after your dogs, we look after your home too. We pick up your post, water your plants (if needed). We always ensure that your property is left secure before we drive away from your property.

Puppies from 8 to 24 weeks


If you are looking for a puppy sitter who has a lot of experience with a wide variety of breeds, who can help you prevent problems in the future, deal with any issues you are having now and answer all your questions, your search ends here. Puppies need a lot of sleep so short visits won't over-tire them (which can cause behaviour problems) and having a  second visit means your pup will not be left alone for long periods.We like to keep their visits on an individual basis for a few months as we think puppies are special and deserve all of our attention while they are so young.

Dog Identification


The Control of Dogs Order 1992

​

Your dog must still wear an identity tag even if it is microchipped. This mandates that any dog in a public place must wear a collar with the name and address of the owner engraved or written on it, or engraved on a tag. Your telephone number is optional (but advisable). The Kennel Club can provide tags. Certain dogs are exempt from having to wear a collar with a dog tag. 


They are:

• Any dog registered with the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

• Any dog while being used in emergency rescue work.

• Any dog while being used on official duties by a member of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, HM Customs and Excise or the police.

• Any dog while being used for driving or tending cattle or sheep.



If you require us to administer medication to your dog(s) whilst they are in out care, please fill out a permission to administer medication form.

Terms and Conditions


The Walkies & Cuddles is covered by public liability insurance provided by Pet-plan Sanctuary.

 

 We will NOT accept aggressive dogs into our service.

 

Security The company undertakes to treat all data about client's as strictly confidential and will not be sold or passed onto third parties.

 

Walkies & Cuddles will never let your Dog(s) off the lead. We recommend that all dogs are kept on their lead, however if you request your dog to be let off we will require written consent from you, the customer.

 

Puppies must be immunised and will only be considered for 30 minute walk option until they have reached 5 months of age.

 

All dogs should be fed after walking to prevent the risk of bloat (known as twisted gut) which can occur if the animal is fed prior to exercise. If we are "pet sitting" we will feed your dog one hour after exercise.

 

All dogs must have been flea and worm treated in the last three months.

 

All dogs will need to pass a basic assessment before being accepted into our service.

They must display a good level of obedience, no signs of aggression and be social with other dogs and children.


All dogs will be continuously assessed by the dog walker, if for any reason we have any issues we will bring this up with you.

 

Payment for general day to day walks must be made by cash or bank transfer through our credit system. Specific payment terms will be discussed in the initial meeting.

 

Cancellation of any dog walking service must be made by 10 hours before the service is due to start or full payment will be charged to the customer. 



10 Questions to Ask before Hiring a Dog Walker

 

  • How many dogs at once do you walk?

    Walkies & Cuddles we only do solo dog walks.

    So we can concentrate on your dog(s)during the walk.

    Please Note: We will only walk 2 dogs from the same household.

  • How much notice do I need for you to schedule my request for a dog walk?

    Walkies & Cuddles can schedule your dog walk with a minimum of a few hours, this is because we have a very good software system in place and we have a excellent team of dog walkers.

  • What is your key policy?

    Walkies & Cuddles takes security very seriously at all times

    1. No addresses on any key tags.

    2. All keys are kept in secure safes.

    3. All Keys have a unique security code & colour code so your key would be 1 of over 20,000  combinations.

  • Are you certified to provide Pet First Aid and Pet CPR?

    Walkies & Cuddles dog walkers are all certified in CPR & Pet First Aid.

  • What will the dog walker do if my dog needs emergency medical care?

    Walkies & Cuddles dog walkers are all trained to a very high standard, each dog walker is equiped with a First Aid Kit.

    Walkies & Cuddles has an Emergency Plan in place and we assure you that your dog(s) are in good hands at all times.

  • Will you provide daily updates letting me know how my dog(s) is doing and what my dog(s) did on their walk?

    Walkies & Cuddles dog walkers will always send you updates and send photo's of each walk.

    The dog walkers will alert you to any unusual behaviors and give you a full report.

  • Does your dog walker have insurance?

    Walkies & Cuddles dog walkers are all fully insured including liability insurance.

  • Do you provide a Off-Lead Dog Walking/Play Service?

    Yes we do provide a Off-Lead Dog Walking/Play Service, you will be required to fill a Off-Lead/Play Disclaimer Form out. Just let us know before the Free Meet & Greet that you require this service and we will have the forms ready for you.

  • How long has the "Walkies & Cuddles" been in business?

    Walkies & Cuddles has been in business for over 4 years. We pride ourselves in caring for all the dogs as though they are our own.

  • How do we pay for the dog walks?

    Walkies & Cuddles has an Advance Payment Plan (credits) We will explain everthing at your Free Meet & Greet. Credits are in units of 5/10/15/20 Credits, each credit represents a dog walk.


Hiring A Dog Walker: Can I Trust My Dog Walker with My House Key?

 

Asking “Can I trust my Dog Walker with my house key?” is a natural question to ask when choosing whether to hire a Dog Walker and which one! Though, I must admit that I understand why some people dismiss this question. Why? Well, they would argue that if you don’t trust your Dog Walker with your house keys, should you really trust them to be looking after your dog(s)? But in reality, I know that handing over your house keys to a Dog Walker goes beyond the question of trusting them with the care of your dog(s). Trusting your Dog Walker with your house keys is very different to trusting them with your dog(s). While your Dog Walker may have all the necessary skills and experience to be working with your pet, how do you know they put the right safeguards in place to ensure your home is protected too?


 No identifiable information is held on the keys 

This protects your privacy and security particularly if the key(s) were lost. Each key is marked up with a serial number. This means that only your Dog Walker knows which key is for your own home. It also ensures that if they were ever to be lost and found by a stranger, they would not be able to identify your home from any key tag. 


Keys will never be left in a ‘safe’ place!

You and your Dog Walker should ensure that keys are never left under a mat or a plant pot or any assumed ‘safe’ place.

The Karat safe with resistance grade 0 High-carat object protection: The safes Karat from BURG-WÄCHTER are especially robust and offer a high resistance against forceful opening and therefore a very high value protection.


Resistant design offers highest security

This safety cabinet Karat is ideally equipped against burglary and enormously aggravates an attempt of forceful opening. The body of the safe is three-walled and the outer surface is of flame-cutting protected stainless steel material.

Prepared for the wall or floor anchoring, the safe can sturdily be assembled with you walls and/or your floor. This allows an extremely high resistance against a forceful removal attempt. You can find one drilling hole on the back wall and one on the bottom for a most sturdy fixation.
